Demi Lovato has recently concluded her professional relationship with manager Scooter Braun, as confirmed by sources. Lovato and Braun had collaborated since 2019.
It’s emphasized that this decision was reached mutually and amicably. Notably, just the day before this announcement, Braun extended birthday wishes to Lovato via his Instagram story, expressing, “Happy birthday to one of the kindest souls out there.”
Representatives for both Lovato and Braun have refrained from providing comments on this matter, with Billboard initially breaking the news. Lovato is reportedly in the process of seeking new management, although the timing is less than ideal due to her upcoming album release, “Revamped.” This album features re-recorded rock versions of her earlier hits and comes on the heels of her recent album, “Holy Fvck,” which leaned heavily into the rock genre and reached No. 7 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
In a press release, Lovato shared her intentions behind “Revamped,” stating, “With ‘Revamped,’ I wanted to pay homage to the songs that resonated the most with fans and played a big role in my career by breathing an exciting new life into them. Creating this project has been incredibly fun and allowed me to express my passion for rock music in a new way… I can’t wait for everyone to hear more!”
During her tenure with Braun, Lovato released two albums, “Holy Fvck” and the more pop-oriented “Dancing with the Devil… the Art of Starting Over” in 2021. Lovato has been candid about her challenges with substance abuse and mental health, with Braun being supportive of her endeavors. When announcing their collaboration in 2019, Lovato expressed her enthusiasm on Instagram, saying, “Dreams came true for me. I officially have a NEW MANAGER. And not just any manager but the one and only Scooter Braun. Couldn’t be happier, inspired, and excited to begin this next chapter. Thank you for believing in me and for being a part of this new journey.”
In his welcoming message to the singer, Braun posted, “Demi is a special person and a special talent. I’m… we… are honored.”
Recent reports had surfaced indicating a potential separation between Braun and his longtime client, Justin Bieber. However, multiple sources
tell Variety those reports are inaccurate.
