Sony has unveiled the debut trailer for “Madame Web,” a suspense thriller set within the Marvel character universe, featuring Dakota Johnson and Sydney Sweeney in leading roles.
The story revolves around Cassandra Webb, played by Johnson, a Manhattan paramedic who seemingly possesses clairvoyant abilities enabling her to foresee the future and the intricacies of the spider-related world. The trailer portrays her forming an alliance with a group of young women, including Sweeney’s character, Julia Carpenter, who, in the comics, assumes the persona of Spider-Woman. Sony’s upcoming lineup includes a third “Venom” movie scheduled for Nov. 8, 2024, and “Kraven the Hunter,” featuring Aaron Taylor-Johnson, set for Aug. 30, 2024. “Madame Web” marks Sony’s first comic book adaptation with a female lead.
